"A line that should never be crossed is about to be breached. It puts this entire castle in jeopardy—and the life of your friend."

From the throne of glass rules a king with a fist of iron and a soul as black as pitch. Assassin Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become his Champion. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown. She hides her secret vigilantly; she knows that the man she serves is bent on evil.

Keeping up the deadly charade becomes increasingly difficult when Celaena realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. As she tries to untangle the mysteries buried deep within the glass castle, her closest relationships suffer. It seems no one is above questioning her allegiances—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a foreign princess with a rebel heart.

Then one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena's world shatters, she will be forced to give up the very thing most precious to her and decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie... and whom she is ultimately willing to fight for.

HOOOOOOOOOLY SHITTTT STUFF WENT DOWNNNNN.

I didn’t like Throne of Glass, so going with my minimal to none expectations.

OMG OMG OMG. THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WANTED AND IMAGINED AND HOPED A BOOK WOULD BE. The void in my heart for a book like had not been filled since Percy Jackson.

THIS TOPPED PERCY JACKSON AND SHOUVED IT DOWN ITS POCKETS.

This book is so much better than Throne of Glass. The story's even better. It’s going to branch off into a massive fantasy series. It’s really going to develop. You can see where things can be added to it to make it even more rich.

It’s getting serious. There are so many things happening that you just have to put it down for some time to process the information given to you. There are a lot of little unexpected plot twists in this book. It was a tiny bit darker in tone and a whole lot more exciting.

The characters stay just as precious. Celaena is QUEEN! hehe She is so driven. An intensified version of Katniss as one of my friends describes her. BUT A LOT MORE SNARKY. Overall a great character development.

"To escape death, she'd become death."

You get a lot more of the political intrigue in this book. And a different side to all of the characters.

Sarah J. Maas’s storytelling is fantastic. I ADORE THIS LADY. I want to marry her. Can that happen? Can someone make this happen for me? IT GETS BETTER AND BETTER AND I CANNOT HANDLE IT.

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. THIS NEEDS CONSTELLATIONS.
