Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?

Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.

Featuring cameos from fan-favourites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoonworthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.

Maybe my expectations for this book were way too high. I am still having trouble with how to rate this.

From the first couple of pages I could feel something was off and I knew I wouldn't like this book as much as the other two. And I was quite underwhelmed by the end of it.

For the most of the book I thought Isla's character was all over the place and her character development was not as strong as I would have wanted it to be. And I feel that her romance with Josh was responsible for it.

I also had  a problem with the plot structure. Some parts of the book were switched for me - the beginning and the end.

I felt like everything was overly dramatic. Isla was extremely dramatic. The dialogue was TOO CHEESY.

I was really close to just putting this book down. It really annoyed me, someone should have given Isla a chill pill.

The setting was great though.

I liked Josh and I feel he was a stronger character than Isla. I vaguely remember him from Anna and the French Kiss and it may be connected to the fact that he draws comics.

I wanted to like this book so much.

Check out my reviews on the other books in the series: (all of them can be read as standalones!)
